FOOTWEAR CHOICE?
Whilst normal road trainers will get you around the course, we do recommend that if you have a pair of trail shoes it's worth wearing them for a bit of extra grip.
HEADPHONES, EARPHONES, EAR-BUDS AND SIMILAR EQUIPMENT
Along with many other race organisers we have endeavoured to persuade runners not to wear headphones, earphones or similar equipment during races. These efforts have failed and consequently we have no alternative but to adopt a strict disqualification practice for any runner seen wearing headphones, earphones or similar equipment. In respect of this race it is important that runners can hear the verbal warnings and instructions issued by race marshals.
RACE SAFETY
The golf club and both it's courses will be open on event day, where it has been deemed that runners or golfers could be in danger from each other we have taken measures to limit these risks. The run route has been designed bearing in mind the flow and direction of the golf courses as well as ensuring it has what a runner wants. However please ensure you are always alert to what is taking place around you and don't forget to say 'Good Morning' or 'Swap you' to our fellow outdoor enthusiasts, the golfers.
CHIP TIMING AND RACE NUMBERS
Race numbers are to be picked up on the day, no race packs will be sent out in the post. An email will be sent out a few days before the event directing you to this webpage for all the pre-race information.
- The race number is to be worn on the front of your torso/chest area and must be attached to your outer layer of clothing so as to be clearly visible
- The race number incorporates the chip timing device - do not try to remove, fold or wrinkle the timing chips
- Do not pierce them with safety pins, there are holes located at each corner for safety pins
- BRING YOUR OWN SAFETY PINS
- WHEN YOU FINISH THE RACE, DO NOT RETURN TO THE CHIP TIMING MATS/FINISH LINE
- DO NOT RUN THROUGH THE FINISH LINE AGAIN
RACE HQ
The Race HQ is located in the clubhouse of the golf resort, this will be sign posted from the car park. There are several toilet blocks located throughout the buildings.
Post-race there are showers and changing facilities in the clubhouse. Post-race refreshments and food are available to purchase in the clubhouse and bar.
When using any of the clubhouse areas and facilities please be respectful of the facilities and do not wear muddy trainers through the buildings. Worth taking a spare pair of trainers for post-race use to get to the showers etc...
